My 3rd disc golf tournament

From the official results on the PDGA website -- I circled my score in blue and
some scores that I beat in red. It was great to not finish last.

In my previous sanctioned tournament I shot scores that rated in the 700's.
This time both of my rounds rated above 800. That sounds a lot better.
I arrived early so I could be sure to get a shirt in my size
and have my pick from the free discs for amateurs.
Very few players had arrived. I signed in, got my stuff, and
drove down the road for breakfast.
My first sanctioned tournament was C tier. This one was
B tier, meaning the prize money (for the pros) was higher
and, therefore, the caliber of players would be better.
For the beginning round my name was first in our group which
meant I was in charge of filling out the scorecard, announcing
the throwing order, and keeping score until I passed the card
to the second player after 5 holes. How about that -- I had
the best score in our group as we began round 2.
I increased my lead over Larry and Kara (a 19 year old
woman who outdrove me on every hole), but Paul finished
the tournament one stroke ahead of me.
Scott Erke (standing in the middle, left) is the designer of the
Sycamore course where we played. He is battling a serious
disease, scleroderma. Before the tournament it was
announced that the course will be renamed "The Scott Erke
Disc Golf Course at Sycamore."
A very emotional moment.
No one got a hole in one during the tournament, so players
threw for the ace prize money afterwards. This shot was taken
right before someone threw an ace into the basket at the
bottom of the hill, just before Jimmy's turn to throw.
Sycamore is a beautiful course, one of the best in the
Dayton area. This approach throw through an opening is
surreal. I will post other pictures of the course soon.
