Buck Creek State Park -- my 4th disc golf tournament (3rd sanctioned tournament)

I had my best tournament to date. I played in the Advanced Masters
group and after the first round you see that my score of 82 was
competitive with lots of others in my group and in the Recreational
group. (Advanced Masters is age 40 and over.)

I was even competitive with some in the Intermediate group.
One of the reasons I did so well is that a track meet was
held at the same park, and their running course occupied
the back, open, long part of our disc golf course. So for the
morning round we played the first 12 holes twice. Those are
the short holes in the woods where I can keep up with the
young long-throwers. In the afternoon we played the short
and the long holes and I'm not strong enough to keep up
with the younger players.
I had 4 birdies during the morning round (unheard of for me)
including a birdie on hole 1, pictured above. The yellow top
of the basket is visible in the dark area near the center of
the picture.
I left the house at 6:30 a.m. and we finished the second
round at about 5:00 p.m. I've lost 10 pounds during the
past two months because of playing in these tournaments.

A basket tucked in the woods above the lake during the
overcast morning. I practiced my putting here and had a
really good putting round.
By lunchtime the sun was shining. Here's my picnic lunch of
apple, yogurt, green tea and a ham sandwich.
The final scores posted at the PDGA website show that I was competitive within
a certain group. My morning round was rated at 836, my highest-rated
tournament round. You can see that my afternoon round of 73 was weak. I really
enjoy playing in the tournament atmosphere, though, no matter how I score.
