I've been using Windows 7 beta for about a month. Like most reviewers, I am impressed. It has
a cleaner, simpler, smoother feel (like the Mac and Linux). Gail looked at the administrator tools
(that she uses at work) and likes them better than Vista.

I had to make some hardware adjustments (add memory and
a DVD drive) to an old computer, and then the install would
have been quick and easy except for the recommendation to
check the Internet for installation updates. That took time.

One of the new tools that I liked was a performance check that tells you
how the hardware on your system is affecting performance. It checks
processor speed, memory, graphics cards and hard disc transfer rate.

Each fuction is rated on a scale from 1 to 7.9, and the base score is the
lowest of any of those ratings.

The new Media Player looked a lot like iPhoto and iTunes on the Mac.
