Brent Hambrick Disc Golf Tournament - Bill throws

When mom and I drove into the tournament site it was raining and play
was suspended. This was the first temporary hole set up for amateur
play that we saw. The van is parked and this is the view through the
windshield. The tee is next to the green sign and the basket is by the
lake.

When the weather cleared and play resumed we watched many people
play the hole. The ditch and rocks to the right are out of bounds, and
a suprising number of people threw OB.

Another throw goes directly OB.
There was a lull between rounds so I took one disc and played a couple
of holes. My drive on this hole landed right in the middle of the fairway
with an easy approach shot.
My second shot landed pin-high with this putt for a par.
It's in, and I'm feeling pretty good. But the best is yet to come.

The other amateur hole that I watched a lot was this one. You throw
from the top of the dam and everything is out of bounds except the
flat square area on the bottom where the basket is. Even the sidewalk
around the grassy square is out of bounds.
The hole is 247 feet (and everything is out of bounds).
A view of the hole from the side. You can see the basket at the bottom
of the dam on the left side of the picture.

I talked to one of the amateur players and told him I was going to give
this hole a try with the only disc I had with me. I threw a high shot to
the right, and when it was equal to the landing area it took a nose dive
to the left, directly toward the basket. The player gave me a big smile
and a thumbs up.

What a coincidence -- as I was looking at my putt, Jimmy called on my
cell phone. After talking to him I made this putt for a birdie. So I played
two holes and I am one under par, quitting while I am ahead (and need
to go check on mom at the motel). Also, the players on the steps are
returning to resume play.
Here's the disc that conquered the dam hole set up for amateurs. That
was really fun.
