Brent Hambrick Disc Golf Tournament - Amateurs

When mom and I arrived at the disc golf tournament in Columbus, the
players were in the midst of an hours-long delay due to rain.

I checked out some of the temporary holes that were set up for amateur
play on the west side of the dam. The pros are playing on the regular
course on the East side.
This was my favorite hole to watch -- from the top of the dam to the
landing area below. I played this hole, but more about that later.

A throw from the top of the dam hole.
Another dam hole throw.
Walking down to the basket.

Many players landed near the basket, but some in each group threw
over the ledge to the left.
During the afternoon, mom waited in the van and through the windshield
she could watch players attempt this shot toward the lake. Later I took
her to the motel and I returned to play some holes and watch more play.
I focused mostly on the amateurs today (though I did go watch the pros
for a while). Tomorrow I will watch mostly the pros. I liked the holes
with a good view from the dam. Some of these players landed near the
basket, and some are searching for discs in the bushes. I'd like to give
this hole a try tomorrow.
Some shots had good hang time and I found I could get photos of the
disc in the air. I should try some video tomorrow.
In fact, I could get multiple shots of the same disc during its flight.

The lake, the ducks, the dam, and the people.

The amateur players are having their meeting between rounds -- this is
when I was able to play a few holes.

Plenty of amateurs threw into the trees and had to take a penalty and
throw the next shot with one foot on the precise edge of the trees.
