More disc golf at Milo McIver State Park -- Estacada, Oregon

Coming out of the wooded fairway you find a log blocking
potential roller and sliding shots.
I used my yellow putter because it looked like it belonged
in the basket.
The basket is in an easy position, not the difficult place
next to the river (where it was last year when I was here).
A drive with the basket on the hill on the right and water
on the left.
A ranger told me about terrible storms during the Winter
that resulted in months of cleanup with chain saws.
That's my orange disc in the center of the picture at the
bottom of a deep gully.
I threw an overhand shot across the field and just as it was
turning into the opening toward the basket it got caught in
a branch (see the white arrow).

There are serious dropoffs on this course. A person could
break a leg, or worse.
There's my white disc at the bottom of a dropoff next to
the river.
Last year this fairway was green and the brush on both sides
was filled with wildflowers. This year the recent 105 degree
temperatures have burned the grass.
I started at dawn when the park opened. After playing two
rounds I was still the only one at the park. I played a third
round on the other 9 holes (the West course). I would have
played even more except that it was a weekend and other
players started to arrive. I didn't want to wait behind them.
The first hole on the extra 9 is a long one. There is only one
angle to the basket on the third shot (see next picture).

Prairie grasses.
Steps to an elevated tee, and ferns. Very nice.
A short hole with a very big tree protecting the basket.
Woodpeckers have been working on a rotten tree.
