The tires came with four free oil changes, so I will be bringing mom back for more
root beer floats.

She wasn't too keen on the Vietnamese food (getting a little picky in her old age),
so next time I might drop her at the hair salon while I get a quick lunch alone.

Mom, after the wash and trim at the salon.

The alignment is almost finished.

A day or two before, we had lunch on the deck of a new restaurant.

And during a recent evening, Gail, Echo and I downloaded a movie and watched it
on mom's TV (while Tangi hid -- from Echo -- behind the couch)..

New Tires, A Hairdo, Lunch and a Rootbeer Float

I decided to get new tires for my van. The old ones would have lasted a while longer, but they had 69,000 miles on them, and having seen people changing flat tires along the road during my drive out West, I decided that getting new tires now was better than the alternative. The new tire adventure (including an alignment) turned out to be a fun afternoon. I had mom with me, and we had lunch next door at a Vietnamese restaurant, and there is also a Fiesta hair salon next door, so mom got a wash and trim, and there is a root beer stand across the street, so we finished our tire-adventure with a root beer float.

From the root beer stand you can see the tire place, the little Vietnamese restaurant in the middle, and the hair salon on the right.
