It was a simple putt from here to get my birdie.

A group of young guys played through as I hobbled to the basket. (No birdies for them.)

Some of the other holes were out in the open, like this one that goes up the hill and
around the corner on the distant right.

Each hole had three different tee pads and three possible basket placements, all
well-documented on the hole signs. On the top right of each sign, there is also an
arrow indicating the direction to the next tee.

Knob Hill Park is on the West side of Cranberry Township in an area known as
"Thorn Hill." The nature trail across the street is called, "Thorn Hill Trail." All of which
was interesting to me because when I was a kid, Thorn Hill was a home for
delinquent juveniles. When we misbehaved, we were often told that we would end up
at Thorn Hill. And I did, at age 59, and it's not so bad.

Knob Hill
The first Pennsylvania disc golf course that I played was Knob Hill in Cranberry, PA (about 45 minutes North of Pittsburgh). I had a sprained ankle, so I couldn't play 18 holes, but I hobbled around and played a few so I could add the course to my list of places where I played.
The hole to the left was near the road, and short. So I hobbled to the tee and had this shot over the creek and through the trees to the basket. Low and behold, on one leg, I threw to the opening on the right of the bridge and my disc hyzered back to the pin for a birdie putt. |
