Nice colors as we enter the town of Black Mountain.

Black Mountain College was at the end of this road. It was a very famous place for
artists in the 1930's, 40's and 50's. It was exciting to be on the same road that had
been traveled by American, artistic greats. The college went out of business in the 50's.

Eden Lake -- part of the old Black Mountain College. It was cold in the mountains. See
the snow?

A small lake in the town of Black Mountain. The mountains in the background are
called the seven sisters.

We spend the night at an inn below the mountains in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

It was a nice place with a pool, restaurant, bar, sauna, etc. Rooms were $49, but we
paid an extra $25 for Tangi, which means it averaged $24.50 for mom and me, but
$25 for Tangi.

The restaurant and bar on the other side of the pool. I watched Monday night football
with locals from the South Carolina mountains. Very interesting.

Morning coffee.

Mom, in her wheelchair on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

On the way to Little River, Tangi spent more time on my lap, but on the way home
she spent more time with mom.

Tangi, sleeping on mom's arm.

We had lunch at this little place along the river in Tennessee.

Sometimes Tangi goes into her carrier to get a little "space." Here she comes back
out, trying to decide whose lap she wants to sit on next.

 Driving Home from Little River

I usually drive to and from Little River thru Charleston, West Virginia. On the way home, mom and I took the route that I haven't taken for ten years -- through upstate South Carolina, Ashville, NC, and Knoxville, Tennessee. It was nice to see different sights, but this route is about 100 miles longer.

We made a side trip to Black Mountain, North Carolina, a place I've always wanted to see because of its place in American education and art history.
