To search for a bookmark, simply begin typing into the regular address box and a list of bookmarks as
well as websites from your history file immediately pops up. Notice above that I typed "car" into the address
box and four bookmarks containing that string appeared (with gold star on the right indicating that those
four are bookmarks) along with other addresses from my history file.

 Firefox 3, Beta 4

I installed the beta 4 version of the upcoming Firefox 3 browser and there are nice improvements.

The first improvement is speed. The browser opens more quickly and complex pages such as gmail open and work considerably quicker.

The second significant improvement is bookmark handling. Note the gold star in the very top right of the image to the right (NOT the big gold star in the center). That little star in the very top right starts as hollow and is at the end of every address in the address box at the top of the browser. To bookmark a page, simply click on that hollow star -- it turns gold and the page has been bookmarked. That's it. To see or edit details, click again on the now-gold star and the dialog box in the image to the left appears. Note that you can remove the bookmark, change the name of the bookmark, and move it from the default "unfiled bookmarks" folder into any of your bookmark folders. And be sure to note the cool feature at the bottom -- "Tags" where you can enter a series of tags (separated by commas) so that a bookmark can be associated with more than one topic and you can search your bookmarks using tags. Very nice.
