Down by the river (next to the disc golf course).

We found a place for lunch in Estacada called "Boots and Spurs."

We both had a bowl of spicy, taco soup.

And I had the Boots and Spurs Burger.

We stopped for ice cream at a deli that also sold disc golf stuff.

Sure enough, tucked away in the corner of the deli...

Mom got an old-fashioned push-up.

Here's a funny story -- I saw this sign and (thinking like a man approaching 60) made
the next four rights ... which brought me back, laughing, for a chance to take the
picture.

We stopped at a Salmon hatchery in Milo McIver Park.

Here are the babies, already practicing their jumping.

A sign saying there are 612,000 of them at the size of 80 per pound.

The fish are eventually released down these steps...

and into this stream. Some (many fewer than 600,000) will eventually return.

 Oregon Nature

One afternoon mom and I drove to Estacada, Oregon to have lunch and visit Milo McIver State Park (which happens to have a championship disc golf course -- but more about that elsewhere in my journal). This is a view of the Clackamas River from the park.
