I spent two and a half years, from age 14-17, in Beacon New York. I rode this very
train into NYC during that time, and I remember the sign for Poughkeepsie.

Enjoying the sights from the express train as we travel along the Hudson River.

The train arrives at Grand Central Station.

Here we are, Grand Central.

There happens to be an underground walkway to 48th Street. We came out right
next to our hotel (which was on 48th and Lexington).

I touch the nose of the Dali Lama for good luck. It must have worked. Everything,
including the weather, went perfectly during our visit to New York.

  The Train to Grand Central

The bus from Stewart airport was timed to meet the train, so within 10 minutes of arriving on the train platform in Beacon, the train showed up.

We purchased round-trip tickets in a machine on the platform -- $11.50 each way. Not bad for an hour and 15 minute train ride. We both like being on trains.
