A New Year

As you can see, my journal format is the same as last year.

This year will get off to an interesting start. Mom and I are going to South Carolina for a week, and at the end of the month Gail and I are going to New York City for a weekend. In early February, mom and I are going to Florida for ten days to watch Cliff and Amy's house and cats.

Larry Retires Hurray for Larry! He is officially retired from Sinclair. A celebratory beer (or two) with friends is definitely called for. [ more ]	Plans for Burning Man I sent for a ticket to Burning Man 2008. If things work out, I'll be there for my fourth year in a row. [ more ]
Portraits of Mom Mom here, there and everywhere. [ more ]	New York The Skybus experience ($20 tickets) was great. We would do it again in a heartbeat (and will). It was also great to see several New York museums. It had been too long since my last museum visits. More New York A walk in Central Park, lunch at a vegetarian restaurant and other, assorted explorations of the city. [ Central Park ] and [ restaurant ] and [ skyline ] and [ 911 ] and [ misc ]	More New York From the Statue of Liberty we continued on the ferry to Ellis Island which I found particularly interesting. I researched my grandfather, Josef Struhar, in the immigrant records. He died young (in his 50's). I never knew him.
