At first, Tazzie would not let me get near him, but he would get close to mom.

Mom kept sweet-talking Tazzie and he became interested.

After a day and a half, mom cracked the barrier.

The day after mom broke through, I became able to pick Tazzie up, but I had to use
the leash to pull him to me.

Mom gets the credit for winning them over.

When things were hectic, I sometimes fed the cats on the porch so they could eat
in peace.

It is funny how they trade bowls right in the middle of eating. The dogs do that, too.
I suppose it is a way for the dominant one to show that she he/she can eat whatever
he/she wants.

I think this was taken before Cliff and Amy left. We haven't achieved this level of
couch community yet.

Mom and I Keep the Dogs

It was a struggle at first, but after three days Tazzie (on the left) is pretty comfortable with us. Mickey always was. I keep a leash on Tazzie so I can catch him when I need to. At first there was a lot of yelping, squirming, biting, etc. I used a towel to protect myself. Mom deserves a lot of credit for winning Tazzie over.
