back

I stayed at a campground in downtown Moab (so I could watch the Nascar race
and the Steeler preseason game). The non-RV part of the campground is across
this creek.

It looks a little deep, but here I go.

The campground looks nice -- much better than those lines of RVs right next to
each other.

This will be my spot.

I had dinner at Eddie McStiff's...

and I still had my membership for Woody's, so I watched the race and the
Steeler game here. (Bars in Utah are private clubs.)

I think I found the perfect vehicle for Moab.

Then again, you can't sleep in a jeep. In the morning, I rolled out of bed...

and ate a melon at the picnic table. Afterwards I noticed that the yellow jackets
buzzing my melon came from these nests all around my feet.

In the morning light, I drove 40 miles up the Colorado River to I-70, heading for the
Rockies.

Good-bye to Moab.

Moab - Canyonlands - Needles

I've decided that Moab will be my regular rest stop whenever I pass this way. On this visit, I explored the Needles section of Canyonlands National Park.
