How should we start the day? We'll follow this arrow and see
where
it takes us.

Our first challenge: find an interesting place for breakfast. How about
"The Original Fatty Patty's" in Vancouver?

I wonder why they call it "Fatty Patty's?" Joey got a HALF order of
biscuits and gravy with hash browns.
Leftovers, of course.

Next we cross the bridge from Washington to Oregon to visit my
favorite computer and electronics store, Fry's.

View from the highway in Portland -- Mt. Hood in the background.
From Fry's we drove up the Columbia Gorge...
stopping along the way at scenic points.
On one pinnacle the wind was blowing at least 50 mph. My glasses
blew off my face and almost over a cliff. (Joey almost had his
first
driving lesson.)

We stopped at several water falls along the scenic highway.

You can see the spray caused by the wind.
But how about this one, viewed from the highway on our way home?
The wind is blowing so hard that the water never hits the ground.
The biggest falls are the Multnomah Falls.

Lots of nice colors and textures around the falls.
View of the cliffs rising into the mist as we drive back from the falls
toward
dinner at the Olive Garden (many thanks for the gift card, Lisa).
Tomorrow we visit the bookstores.
