I'm convincing myself that 2008 will be my year for getting rid of things. As a little
jumpstart, I am getting rid of my paper-based records. Here are 10 years of
shredded receipts and income tax returns -- 1990-2000.

Happy Ending to 2007

One of the things I am happy about is the convenience I've built into my (and mom's) life -- things are somewhat organized and services are nearby. For example:

  • our bank (half block away).
  • hardware store (half block).
  • Dot's grocery store (half mile).
  • gas station (three blocks).
  • Cadillac Jacks (half mile) .
  • dentist (two blocks). I visited the dentist this month and I'm good to go for a year or two.
  • mom's monthly toe-nail person (half-mile)
  • vet for Echo and Tangi (half mile)
  • variety of restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Selling mom's home last year and moving her here were significant steps toward simplification.

Things I need to do next year include:

  • Make a trip to the West coast to see Cole, Joey and Lisa.
  • Do something with the house I am using for storage -- clean it out, do some repairs and either rent it, sell it, or use it regularly as a studio.
  • Get rid of things that are cluttering up my life.
