Christmas and Year's End
I got a great jump on Christmas. I put mom's tree and other decorations up while we were making the Thanksgiving turkey. And, miracle of miracles, I hit the 5:00 a.m., after-Thanksgiving sales (something I swore I would never do again) and had all of my Christmas presents bought and wrapped by mid-afternoon on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
I'm looking forward to a relaxing month of December and end of the year.

2007It has been a good year for me, and I seem to be ending it in fine shape. The pieces of my life are pretty much in order. Things are under control. Hopefully I haven't jinxed myself by saying that. I'll spend time this month deciding what goals, if any, I should have for next year. |

Christmas and New Years Eve We had a nice holiday season -- time with family including guests from Tampa, Columbus, and Vancouver, Washington. And lots of presents. I'm not a holiday person, but I tried to be cheerful thoughout the ordeal. (My idea of a holiday is to get in my van and go somewhere.) Mom and I took several walks before the weather got cold. I learned that the limit of walking with her is one short block. -- a couple hundred feet. So I got a wheelchair. Now we can go on longer outings. We tested it out at the mall.
