Driving from Reno on Pyramid Lake Highway.

After getting our permit at the reservation store, here we are.

First a little snack of shrimp, cockail sauce, chips and dip.

Followed by floating.

Gail floating.

The van in the background.

Me.

I tried to take a picture of a bird flying overhead (see the speck right above these
words?), but I missed and just got the blue sky.

We float across the bay, carry our tubes back, and float across again. There
wasn't much wind, so each float took at least a half hour.

I cooked steak strips with boiled potatoes and a salad.

Gail took one last float while I was cooking.

I love to see her down there.

No boats (no noise except for the birds).

After eating, we read the paper, watched the birds diving for fish, and I had a beer.

Goodbye to Pyramid Lake, but we'll be back later in the week.

Pyramid Lake

We were returning from an overnight stay in Downieville, California (pictures elsewhere) and decided to go directly to Pyramid Lake for some floating -- after a quick stop at the grocery to get picnic provisions.
