Ostara - Goddess of Spring
I've come to appreciate the wiccan holidays called "sabbats." March 21st was Ostara -- Spring, new beginnings, fertility, self-renewal. On March 21st the hours of day and night were equal, and during April light continues to replace darkness.
I am enjoying, as always, the chance to get back to gardening.

Windows Vista Don't bother. After using Windows Vista for a month, I see no pressing reason to upgrade from XP. The highly touted Aero interface is only mildly impressive, the widgets on the desktop are trivial, some of the interface changes are not intuitive, and, worst of all, the constant requests for permission (which sometimes pop up in a window BEHIND the window you are working in) are very annoying. But I am glad I upgraded and would do it again. |

Fun with Technology I've had great fun this month playing around with operating systems and hardware upgrades and the release of Adobe Creative Suite 3. I've also increased my knowledge of CSS and learned a little about Ajax. |
Trivia at the Getaway I visited the Getaway Cafe, a great trivia bar in the Pittsburgh area. I met SHARK and EBS, and I got lucky and punked their board. The Getaway has a very impressive food menu and I'll definitely revisit. [ more ] |

Last month when the snow melted, I noticed that there was a lot of litter on our street. Now when I walk the dog, I take a bag and pick up trash. After about four sweeps of the neighborhood, it looked much better. I am the litter patrol.
