My New Van

Chevrolet Express

I traded my van in on a new, used one -- a Chevrolet Express Cargo Van with 27,000 miles on it. GM raises the warranty period an extra 3 months on GM Certified used vehicles, so I have a full, 100% warranty for 12,000 miles or 18 months.

The dealership has a dozen or more of these vehicles from a communications company who upgraded their fleet. They had been used to haul TV satellite systems to homes for installation. I will probably remove part of the rack for ladders on the roof. I'll leave the frame on top and probably construct an awning that attaches for camping.

More New Van

Another view. Echo was the first one to ride in the new van. Mom was second
-- I took her for ice cream.

This van is full size. My Astro was a mini-van. Notice the storage compartments
on the back doors.

I'll have a lot more room for camping and for hauling. I removed
the metal door that divided the front from the back. Besides being
able to move around better, I can also see out the back windows better.

I can keep my valuables in the metal lock-box bolted to the floor.

The inside is pretty much like my old van. I am sitting up a little higher
and the ride is smoother since the shocks, springs, etc. are all newer.
