I created my first page using the beta version of Google's online webpage creation too.

As you can see from the screen capture, the tools are straightforward. You work directly online inside a webpage. Use "Change Look" and "Change Layout" on the top right to choose a design for the page. Type your text in the appropriate places within your template. Use the tools on the left to change text, add an image, a link or a bulleted list. Note that there is a link on the bottom left, "Edit HTML," to change the view and work directly in HTML. When you are ready, you simply click the "Publish" button and you are done. There is an "unpublish" button on the bottom right if you want to remove the page from the web. Very smooth.
