Steelers

Into the Playoffs

Mom (to the left) signals a personal foul as the Steelers beat the Lions in the last game of the season, assuring our place in the playoffs.

Goodbye Bengals

I watched the Steelers shrug off the Bengals at Overtime Sports Bar in North Myrtle Beach, SC. [see pictures below] Since there seems to be no Bengal following anywhere outside the Cincinnati area, there was no obnoxious who-dey nonsense -- how refreshing. And, of course, there is a big Steeler following here -- and almost everywhere, for that matter.

Preparing for the Game

Barmaid with a Steeler hat pours a big one.

I'm feeling good about the game -- omens are everywhere. Black and
gold designs pop out at me, one guy plays trivia as WHODEY and
finishes last. (There are no Bengal fans, but there are some Steeler-bashers.)

A resourceful Browns fan finds something to do while he waits for better
times -- he creates custom t-shirts for Steeler fans using his laptop and
the black sewing machine on the bottom of the picture.

The game is on!

Sorry, Marvin.

Everyone is cheering madly for the good guys.

This little girl wants to climb up to the big screen and help.

A big win. Frenzy among the fans. (I actually run onto the stage
waving my arms with each Steeler score.) And it's on to Indianapolis.
