My life story, the very short version: 1949, born in Pittsburgh (Steelers!) in a German/Bohemian family. Ages 14-20 spent in New York learning to be a monk (Marianist) which landed me at the University of Dayton where I studied philosophy, got too smart for my britches, and gave up the monk thing. I also studied psychology and ended up teaching at the community college in Dayton, Ohio for 33 years. Career opportunities resulted in a myriad of interesting paths such as serving as chair of the Psychology Department, learning to paint, and managing a federal grant that sent community college teachers from across the USA to India (I was in India many times, sometimes for six weeks at a stretch). Here I am, age 56, a veteran of Burning Man, retired and free at last, free at last.
