Detroit

Woodward Avenue

I spent most of my time Wednesday morning on Woodward Avenue. I had planned to go watch the taping of ESPN's Mike and Mike Show in the Renaissance Center, but the weather was so nice that I enjoyed walking outside. It was warmer in Detroit than in Dayton. The gods are smiling on the superbowl.

More Woodward Avenue

Woodward Avenue is a primary street in Detroit with a rich history. It is much
further along in the revitalization process than it was the last time I was here
(maybe two years ago). This is one of the new buildings with the Hard Rock Cafe
on the ground level. There are also many older, renovated buildings.

The shops and clubs on Woodward Ave. are back. For the superbowl, the
street is closed to traffic and filled with tents, displays and activities.

You can barely see the green turf behind the back of the truck. Various
football activities for visitors take place on the green turf.
