Driving - Day 3

Angel Lake

Angel Lake is an Alpine lake 8,500 feet above sea level. I drove up to it last year and the memory was so strong that I had to visit it again.

More Angel Lake

The lake is up in these mountains.

Here I go...

The only times I have ever had vertigo in a car are on my two drives up
to Angel Lake. Pictures can't capture it, but there is no guard rail and
driving up (I am driving down in this picture) the tires are a few feet from
a 5000 foot drop.

The view is spectacular.

And the lake ain't bad, either!

My foot is in the clear, clear water. It wasn't as cold as I expected.

Fish were jumping -- trout, I believe (from some literature I read).

I was the only one up there. (There is a campground, too.)
