Being of Czech heritage, I enjoyed this little book.

And this book, a technical analysis of proverbs in Reggae includes:

"During one song, he kept returning to the proverb, A hungry man is an angry man, chanting it intensely. During one segment of the song, he leaned backward, his body half dancing, half trembling, a shamanic figure in trance, chanting over and over, 'A hungry man is an angry man.' The performance of the proverb communicated all of the frustration, rage, and compassion he felt contemplating the present and historical situation of colonized people in Jamaica and throughout the globe."
