January I turned 52 just before the start of the year. New Year's Eve -- a first: making network cable. New Year's Day -- leaving for a week in South Carolina:
An experiment in the making -- www.daytonbelmont.com. We held a typical DAFUG meeting -- a couple of guys drinking beer. The Steelers didn't make it to the superbowl, but they gave us a lot to be proud of and a lot of good times watching the games this year. Check out the number one fan.

February I turned in my letter announcing my retirement from the college effective June 30, 2002. Then I left town for a few days to reflect. Here is my current state of mind. Did something with XML and Flash. Experiments with sound from Acid Pro in Flash movies. Mom and I do videoconferencing. Beer Can Bob's 74th birthday. The first in what I hope will be a series of programming experiments in Flash -- this one involves writing conditional statements.

March
Experiments with Illustrator and Flash. Experimental pre-loader. I tried a crockpot recipe that my sister, Peggy, sent to me -- smothered steak strips. March 5 -- Gail and I went to the Microsoft VisualStudio.Net rollout in Cincinnati. Mars, PA -- weekend visit to see mom. Beer bread recipe from mom. THE QUESTION I keep hearing is, "What will you do when you retire?" Here is the answer. I finished the first 3-month period of 2002 at Little River, SC enjoying Spring Break.
