winter Spring summer fall

April

I thought April Fools Day might be a good day to reveal my current study of comics.

Flash MX -- and experiment with the new feature where you can import images on the fly (the images are stored outside the Flash movie).

I hadn't heard of iFrames -- but now I have.

Checking out a Microsoft product under development: a low-bandwidth video conferencing solution.

An important meeting with Larry.

The movie: "Death to Smoochy."

The first Flash MX book to reach the market.

A weekend at home. With some time spent trying to understand how a game in flash might work.

Closing of a place with memories: the Southern Belle.
The new Southern Belle opens.

Another recipe in the tradition of beer food -- beer cake.

My application for supplemental retirement is approved.

My copy of the new Photoshop 7 arrives.

A great new Flash MX book explaining only the new features.

A weekend in Portland to see Cole and Joey and to meet Chris.

May

Began the month with a week-long Mother's Day celebration -- me and mom in Little River for a week.

A Flash MX experiment with components.

A friend from childhood, John Dilallo, found me on the Internet and sent pictures of grandchildren.

My last meeting at Sinclair was the department review with the president.

We are having a new bathtub installed -- view the construction.

The employee recognition dinner includes recognition of those who are retiring from Sinclair.

Get Celtics tickets for next season. Chris is back.

Yet more self-portraits.

My self-confidence is high -- I just built a computer from scratch -- and it works!

Bad Floyd wants to know how to write poetry.

By the less witted for the less witted -- an experiment.

June

I didn't want my last weeks to drag by, or to be uneventful, so, to keep my life lively, I ran to South Carolina for a four-day weekend.

Self-reflections of the visual type.

The end of a career -- my last psychology lecture on Tuesday, June 4, 2002.

A retirement self-study done in Flash.

Bananas 'r us.

Is this really noteworthy? Spring haircut.

I installed two air conditioners at the studio.

My excursion into the world of books on tape.

The final days: I cleaned out my office, did my "exit interview," turned in my keys and parking card, and submitted my grades.

Gail gave me this beautiful watch for my retirement.

And more presents: a party shirt, a bag of goodies.

Another trip to Little River, SC.

I'm working on this still life for an upcoming art show.

Some exercises with Painter, and an animation experiment with 3D, animated gifs, and Flash. Oh, yea, this one, too.

A playful day creating this plaything.

I particularly like this self-portrait.

A Little River fish dinner.

I'm reading and enjoying The Last American Man.
