The Psy 208 Hybrid Course -- Day One Snapshot

After explaining the hybrid process at the first class session, a simple four-question survey was completed by each student.
There were two sections of Psy 208. Both are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday, one from 12:00-2:15 and the other from 4:30-6:45. Here are the results from the two sections combined (there were no differences between the two sections).

After hearing the course described, especially the idea of meeting in-person half the time and using the Web for the other half of the course, where do you fall on this scale of 1-4 where:

1= I'm excited. I think I am going to like this.
2= I'm uncertain.
3= I don't think I am going to like this, but I'll give it a try.
4= My feeling is: I'd like to drop this class (even if in actuality I don't).

An interesting fact: There were seven people who did not have the Internet at home (or some convenient place) and there were seven people who were uncertain about the half-Internet, half-in-person setup. But there was zero overlap between the two groups of seven. That is, all seven who did not have the Internet at home were excited about using it in the class, and all seven who were uncertain about the setup of the class did have the Internet at home. This might indicate an important point about access -- one possible interpretation: those who didn't have easy access and had to use college computers were at least as willing and excited about using the Internet.

I am also compiling a list of student comments.
