Let's Dive Right In
Open Flash on your computer and, of course, open this Web page -- you will switch back and forth.

Use the image to the right as a guide. (If the tools are not showing in Flash, go to WINDOW>TOOLS to open the panel.)

Click on the tool for drawing squares and rectangles -- do this inside Flash, not on this Web page (sheesh).

Click in the Flash work area and drag to draw a square.

Did it work? If not, maybe this Flash thing isn't for you (kidding). You are off to a great start. Read the next paragraph and then use the link below to go to page 2 of this lesson. Yes, you have conquered page 1. You have, heaven forbid, flashed.

A Word About Your Attitude
This is discovery learning, not some teacher-dominated college class. Learn like a kid -- just play and be sure to make a mess. Don't think you have to understand everything at first -- the understanding will come. Play with abandon first.
